After months of walking from the front door some variation is necessary. Doing walks the other way around is one way to add variety 😳.
This is a 17 miler I did a few weeks ago so this time Catherine and I did it in reverse.
Weather was mostly fine with lots of sunshine for the second half (from Ongar Hill to home). A breezy north easterly kept us chilled when the sun hid behind the clouds though! I was amazed when we stopped just after Ongar Hill on the way back into Terrington (approx halfway round) because I could see the huge church spire at Tilney All Saints (which was about 3 miles into the hike)… it looked far, far away!!
BTW this brings my total this year to 190 miles! It’s harder than you think 🙂
Looking across the landscape from Ongar Hill I could see the distant spire of Tinley All Saints Church... we passed it 3-4 hours before and it looked a long, long way away!
Daffodils in bloom in Sandygate Lane
I'm pretty sure this is the weather front which literally divides todays system from tomorrow's
Sometimes you just cannot beat a Norfolk Sky for beauty and magnificence.
Sometimes trying to capture the moment can be challenging.
Looking towards Ongar Hill on the Clenchwarton Village Walk path
This is the sea wall which is all that holds back the water when the tide is high!!
The sun shone brightly on the return part of the journey (Ongar Hill is approx halfway).
In the hour before sunset the light is still amazing! We made it home before dark!!!!
Still a few miles to go and the sun is low in the sky... the spring flowers say it all though!
Still a few miles from home (round the corner from Balaclava Farm) the road is straight and true 😮
